OBS 2023 Graduation Event

1.600 attendees at the OBS 2023 Graduation

We have more than 2,700 graduates from 43 different countries.

The OBS Business School Graduation Ceremony 2023 took place last Monday 10th July at L'Auditori de Barcelona, where we enjoyed the company of more than 1,600 attendees. Among them, we had the presence of graduates from 33 different degrees, accompanying persons, teachers and authorities, among others. In addition, the event was broadcast by streaming through the OBS YouTube Channel, where more than 10,000 people from different parts of the world watched us.

It was a real honour to be able to live in person such a special day for our students and for the OBS Community in general. This year we had the pleasure of celebrating the success of more than 2,700 students from 43 different countries, graduating from the September 2021, November 2021, February 2022 and May 2022 intake.

As Dr. Casilda Güell, Dean of OBS, said in her welcome speech: "Today is an exceptional day for all of us present, as we recognise your effort and dedication, hoping that the experience you have lived has been as valuable and unforgettable as it has been for us". 

"When I talk about business growth, I mean the growth of all those around us... I mean being generous". 
In this Graduation Ceremony we had the great pleasure of having an exceptional sponsor, Mr. Santiago García-Nieto Conde, hotel businessman of BondiaHotels, President of the Confederació Empresarial d'Hosteleria i Restauració de Catalunya, Vice President of Foment del Treball and Member of the Executive Committee of the CEOE in Spain.

"Few things in life make you as proud as sponsoring talent", began Mr. García-Nieto Conde, who throughout his speech focused on the value of generosity in the business world. The sponsor shared with the audience some of the lessons learned throughout his extensive career, such as, for example, the importance of sharing talent to contribute and collaborate with those associations and groups whose work and influence will allow us to grow as a society. "The road, to go further, must always be travelled accompanied; let us be generous and fair, because being leaders with these principles will always make you nobler".

An evening full of recognition

At the OBS 2023 Graduation Ceremony there was also space to recognise the great work of the companies that collaborate with the school and the teachers who strive day after day to inspire and train our students. Anabel Huelmo, Director of the Consumer Business Unit of DHL Supply Chain Iberia went up to collect the Best Company Award and took the opportunity to congratulate the protagonists of the day in her speech.

Also celebrating the success of our graduates was Professor Mario Sorribas, winner of the Best Teacher Award, who was quick to point out that "In life, successes are rarely individual. Almost always, successes come as a result of teamwork..... find good teams to be part of and build beautiful stories in worlds where you want to live and where you want your descendants to live". 

Anai Lopez, Best Alumni Award, also had some moving words for her fellow alumni: "Looking forward, thanks to this experience, our commitment and OBS, we took away new tools, knowledge and connections that we must now use to lead with integrity, responsibility and passion."

Finally, representatives of the winning teams of the OBS Talent Awards, which annually reward the three best Master's Final Projects, took to the stage. This year, the winners were:

• 1st: MeetHealth: System for centralisation and analysis of health data.
• 2nd: Consultancy project for the Alquería Business Group.
• 3rd: Blossom

One of the most emotional moments of the event was the surprise video that family and friends of our graduates prepared for their loved ones. Undoubtedly, a very special gift for all the attendees. 

Finally, as Dr. Óscar Aguer, Director General of OBS Business School, pointed out in his closing speech: "This great achievement symbolises the end of one stage and the beginning of another that will undoubtedly be full of new challenges, discoveries and great opportunities. We are proud to be able to share this day with all of you and welcome you to the OBS Alumni family, made up of more than 39,000 professionals around the world".
