The second edition of THE CORE FEST brings together leading professionals from the audiovisual and content sector in the celebration of the Entertainment Industry.

 

THE CORE FEST Entertainment Industry Festival, has counted on the collaboration of 20 leading companies in the entertainment and audiovisual sector, including GROUP MEDIAPRO, Bambú Producciones, Ánima Kitchent, Glassfrog Productions, Movistar Raiders, Grupo Secuoya, Grupo Planeta and Atresmedia to accompany the closing of the 22/23 academic year.

Madrid, 24 July 2023. The Core School, the first school of Entertainment Sciences in Europe, has held its second edition of THE CORE FEST Entertainment Industry Festival. The largest meeting between entertainment professionals and the future of this sector. Once again this year, 20 top-level companies in the entertainment and audiovisual sector, including GROUP MEDIAPRO, Bambú Producciones, Ánima Kitchent, Glassfrog Productions, Movistar Raiders, Grupo Secuoya, Grupo Planeta and Atresmedia, collaborated in the closing of the 22/23 academic year.

During the day, various activities were carried out, such as round tables and talks, such as the one given by Peris Digital, which presented a photogrammetry demonstration led by Raúl Maqueda. In which, it has been shown to the assistants how a garment or complete look of wardrobe can be cloned thanks to the artificial intelligence. There was also a Speed Meeting with companies specialising in special effects, storytelling and eSports, as well as immersive experiences, many of which were carried out using virtual reality in the XRLAB classroom.

Another of the activities that could be enjoyed during the event was a Gaming Test. This project was conceived by the students of the Master's Degree in Video Game Creation that form part of the PlayStation Talents programme, which is supported by the Secuoya Group.

To close the festival, four awards were presented: to the outstanding teacher of 22/23, to the best student of this academic year, THE CORE award and, finally, a recognition to the professional career. The awards were presented by the Dean of The Core School, María Mercedes Agüero, and Alberto Ribas, Business Director of Planeta Formación and Universities Madrid and Valencia.

This year's winners in the category of Outstanding Student 22-23 went to César Domínguez Castro from the Master's in Executive Production. This year's Outstanding Teacher is James Phelan, lecturer on the Master's Degree in Video Game Programming. The Best TFM Project Award went to "BUENAS NOCHES IN THE NIGHT" by the students: Diego Castaño, Gema Añonuevo, Mónica Florido, María del Mar García, Raúl Guillén and Ricardo Rodrigo, from the Master's Degree in Direct TV Production. THE CORE award, which recognises the extraordinary contribution to the entertainment industry of the producer of such outstanding works as La Catedral del Mar, Jaume Banacolocha, CEO and co-founder of the prestigious fiction brand Diagonal TV.

And finally, the award for his professional career has gone to Claudio Biern Boyd, a benchmark in the animation industry in Spain, for works that are part of our childhood, such as Los Mosqueperros, David the Gnome and Willy Fog, among others. As this is a posthumous recognition, the award was collected by his son, Carlos Biern.
