On Monday 17 February, the renowned Catalan chef Joan Roca, co-founder of El Celler de Can Roca, was the star of the inauguration of the series of gastronomic meetings ‘Hoy Invito Yo’ at Barcelona Culinary Hub, of Planeta Formación y Universidades, in collaboration with the publishing house Planeta Gastro.

The event, hosted by the gastronomic journalist Yaiza Saiz, brought together an audience made up of students and collaborators of the school, as well as being broadcast via streaming.

During the talk, the chef spoke about the importance of passion and commitment in his team. For him, it is essential that team members are happy cooking and that they work with enthusiasm and excitement. ‘When you have passion for something, you learn and you do things a little bit better every day’, said Roca, highlighting the value of dedication and love for cooking.

He also highlighted the importance and challenge of managing a gastronomic project. Although this work is far removed from the work in the kitchens, it is an essential factor in ensuring that the whole structure functions efficiently.
