Planeta Formación y Universidades has analysed the results of the Barometer of ‘Artificial Intelligence and the Employability of the Future for Higher Education Students’ in Bogotá
The report ‘Artificial Intelligence and the Employability of the Future for Higher Education Students’, prepared by GAD3 - a social research and corporate communication consultancy of reference in Spain - for Planeta Formación y Universidades, analyses the perception of students on the challenges, opportunities and consequences of AI in their professional future in Colombian students.
The presentation of the study took place yesterday, Wednesday 27 November, in the Colombian media EL TIEMPO, in Bogotá. The presentation presented the main findings of this report which, introduced by Montse Civera, academic director of Planeta Formación y Universidades, gave a context of this research, while referring to the transformative capacity of artificial intelligence in the higher education sector and the possibilities it offers us.
Civera delved into the role of educational institutions in the future of AI from a transversal methodological perspective and presented training and refresher programmes for teachers; alliances with companies in the AI sector, the offer of specific artificial intelligence programmes on the web, and how they approach it at a transversal level.
Narciso Michavila, president of the consultancy firm GAD3, illustrated the main findings and contributions of the study. The session was moderated by Ricardo Ávila, senior analyst journalist at EL TIEMPO.
One of the relevant data revealed by the study is that of the total number of Colombian students surveyed, 60 percent claim to understand where and how to apply AI tools, but only 35 percent have the necessary skills to create and develop them, while 84 percent of students in Colombia indicate frequent use of generative AI tools.
Likewise, from the perspective of the Colombian National Government, Mauricio Lizcano, Minister of Information and Communication Technologies (MinTIC) in Colombia, referred to the importance of incorporating AI in the training and labour competence of young people and adults, what this technology means for the competitiveness of workers and employers, as well as its importance in training, but with a transversal perspective to integrate it into the different processes.
These and many other relevant data were presented at the forum ‘Artificial Intelligence and the Employability of the Future’.
